The world’s youngest nation can now test Coronavirus after setting up testing kits and facility and quarantine center in the capital Juba, a health official said.
WHO assisted in setting up the lab and quarantine center at th Juba Teaching Hospital.
According to Eye Radio, last week, the Ministry of Health announced that the government had procured five testing machines to be set up at the major airports and border points.
Four qualified South Sudanese technicians have been trained to operate the system.
In the past weeks report said that there suspected cases of Coronavirus within Juba but fortunately, the reported cases were all negative.
The Undersecretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Makur Koryom, the testing can be done indoors if there’s any case reported.
“We can do it in-house if we have any suspected cases,” he told reporters in Juba on Tuesday.
Dr. Koryom added that other testing facilities will also be established at Wau and Yambio airports.
