South Sudanese musicians have been in the game for almost 1 decade but unfortunately 98% of them never got and will never get international or regional recognition if they don’t quit the listed facts below.

Out of hundreds of artistes, only two of them made it to global and these are non other than Dynamq and Emmanuel Jal: the rest only shine locally and with East Africa (Uganda and Kenya).

These are the reasons why South Sudanese Musicians don’t get recognized globally or regionally.

1. Poor Quality Audios and Videos

Some of you are blaming MTV Africa for not airing your music, but chill bro,  how do you expect MTV to play blurry video that look like 1930’s? The main reason why South Sudanese musicians don’t get recognized by international entertainment industry such as MTV Africa is because they go for quantity instead of quality. They go to studio, record multiple trashes, ask their few supporters to drop their whatsapp numbers and distribute the trashes through whatsapp. Style up and go for quality not quantity.

2. Imitation

Y’all will agree with me here because we all know that most of our musicians are not real.  If you can’t come up with something unique, how would you expect someone to listen to a song or a lyric that other artistes have recorded? When you are entering into a new market, do you sell the goods and services that your competitors sell or come up with a unique ones?  Of course you come up with a new ones or you offer after sale services that others don’t.  The same case applies here,  when you copy others’ work you won’t be recognized. Without doubt, South Sudanese musicians imitate other artistes especially Jamaicans and Nigerians. Be real in the game and let the world recognize you for who you’re not who you imitate.

3. Lack of Collaborations

This is also one of the reasons why you don’t shine because you guys lack corporation among yourselves. K-Denk or Slate Nation think they are the only best artistes so they can’t do collaboration with Alijoma or CJ Oman. Team works is better than individual’s. When you collaborate with each other, definitely you’d go higher.
